Insurers Consider Expanding Exchange Offerings.

In Washington state, the Seattle Times (5/5, Ostrom) reports that four additional health insurers have expressed interest in joining Washington Healthplanfinder. The four for-profit companies would join the existing eight exchange providers, all of whom plan to remain in the exchange. The new entrants are Moda Health Plan, Columbia United Providers, Health Alliance Northwest Health Plan, and UnitedHealthcare of Washington.
In Colorado, the Denver Post (5/2, Gibbons) reported that Kaiser Permanente plans to expand its coverage into mountain communities that have been dealing with extremely high health insurance premiums. Two such communities have the highest prices in the United States.
